Be the Change: Coding Club
I am super excited to share that we are having our first ever coding club meeting today at our middle school! On the VVMS news today we showed this video Anybody Can Learn- 60 sec teaser and our math teachers showed this one to encourage students to consider coming to our after school club What Most Schools Don’t Teach.
For me, this is a way to be the change I want to see in the world. I want to see high poverty schools like mine embrace coding. I know the power of learning code and what it can do for families and futures. I want that same opportunity for my students, the opportunity to have hope for their future. For some students this is how they will thrive and how their dreams will come alive.
Update: We had 83 students the first week and over 50 the second week! The students are really excited about this after-school opportunity.
